This Privacy Policy explains how GoDash ("GoDash," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the GoDash app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.

SUMMARY:

GoDash is built to keep your driving private. Your dashcam recordings, telemetry, and account details are stored on your device and are not uploaded to us. We do not operate servers that collect your personal data, and we do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking. The only information that leaves your device goes directly to Apple services you choose to use (Maps, Apple Music, Sign in with Apple, and the App Store), which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

1. INFORMATION THE APP ACCESSES AND WHY

  • Camera and Microphone

    The App uses your camera, and optionally your microphone, to record looping dashcam video and audio. These recordings are stored only on your device. We do not receive, upload, or have any access to them.

  • Location

    With your permission, the App uses your location while you are using it to provide map navigation and to show speed, heading, and trip data in the telemetry module. Location is processed on your device. When you search for a destination, your search text is sent to Apple's Maps service to return results; this is handled by Apple.

  • Motion and Fitness (Motion Sensors)

    The App uses your device's motion sensors to calculate g-force readings shown in the telemetry module and, if you enable it, to overlay that data onto your saved clips. This is processed on your device.

  • Photos

    If you choose to export a clip, the App adds that video to your device's photo library. The App only writes clips you explicitly export; it does not read or scan your existing photos.

  • Apple Music

    If you use the music module, the App uses Apple Music (via Apple's MusicKit) to show your library and play music. Access to your Apple Music account and library is handled by Apple. An active Apple Music subscription is required to play full tracks.

  • Account (Sign in with Apple)

    Signing in is optional. The App records and saves clips whether or not you are signed in. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we store the name and email you provide through Sign in with Apple locally on your device (in the iOS Keychain) to display your profile. You can choose to hide your email through Apple's private relay. We do not transmit this information to any server of ours.

  • Purchases (GoDash Pro)

    Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We do not collect or receive your payment details. Apple provides the App with a receipt/entitlement indicating whether your subscription is active, so the App can unlock Pro features.

  • Diagnostics

    Errors may be logged to the device console to help with debugging. The App does not include third-party crash-reporting or analytics services, and these logs are not sent to us.

2. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

  • We do not collect, store, or sell your dashcam footage or telemetry.

  • We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA) or ad networks.

  • We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS STORED AND RETAINED

Dashcam clips, telemetry data, settings, and account details are stored locally on your device. Clips are excluded from iCloud backup by default. You control retention:

  • Delete individual clips, or all clips, in the App.

  • The free tier automatically removes the oldest clips beyond its limit.

  • Sign out or delete your GoDash profile from the App at any time.

  • Deleting the App removes its locally stored data from your device.

4. APPLE SERVICES

The App relies on services provided by Apple, including MapKit (maps and search), MusicKit (Apple Music), Sign in with Apple, and StoreKit (the App Store). Information handled by these services is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

5. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Because your data stays on your device, there is nothing for us to share. You may choose to share a clip yourself using the App's share feature, which hands the file to whichever app or destination you pick.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROLS

  • You can grant or revoke camera, microphone, location, motion, photos, and Apple Music permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

  • You can delete your clips and your GoDash profile within the App.

  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy at its published URL.
